Curriculum Development and Instructional Design
Students can
1) understand cultural characteristics, and reflectively compare other cultures with their own;
2) be able to analyze text and media, explore the generation and presentation of culture,
3) analyze issues and put forward their own opinions;
4) be interested in international culture, and search for information for a deeper understanding.
This course expects students to increase their interest in culture and culturaland life stories, through multiple perspectives, like the reflection and refraction of changeable images, to think about the possibilities of multiculturalism and cultural sustainability and innovation unfolding before our eyes through the scenarios offered and developed in the course.
Students' Learning Performance and Outcome
Two written essays and two oral reports are required for the course. Each oral report should be between 4 and 6 minutes in length and given primarily in English (Chinese language use is acceptable). Students can use notecards when delivering their reports, but no other resources or technology will be allowed.
Classmates in the audience will write one question for each oral report they hear and the presenter must pick two classmate questions to answer.
